■ Regarding individual differences Each item is shaped, colored, and fired by hand. Therefore, no two ceramic pieces are exactly alike. Color variations, unevenness, protrusions, black spots... these are all characteristics unique to handmade pottery and contribute to the texture of the vessel. Please note that the following are characteristics of ceramic products and are not defects. ・Color Since each item is hand-glazed, there may be some color variations and unevenness. Also, conditions during firing can cause various changes, and even when using the same color glaze, the fired color and crazing may vary, and the color may differ slightly from the photo. ・Holes and protrusions Small holes and protrusions may be observed on glazed pottery. These are called pinholes, and are a phenomenon where air remaining in the body or organic matter (such as dust) when the glaze is applied remains as small holes after firing. This is a phenomenon peculiar to pottery. ・Black spots Black spots may be seen on the surface of the pottery. This is iron powder, where the iron content originally contained in the pottery clay oxidizes when fired in the kiln, appearing as black spots on the surface of the vessel. |
