Efforts of MAM CAFE

The MAM MONAKA SERIES set boxes feature paper packaging designed so that they can be given as gifts directly, without additional wrapping.
When handling food products, considering hygiene and expiration date management, it is often necessary to choose plastic packaging. However, we are starting with what we can and will review our processes as needed.



MAM CAFE's soup monaka are carefully crafted one by one by skilled artisans, adjusting the strength so they can be broken by hand.
With an emphasis on deliciousness, the delicately crafted monaka can sometimes crack or break during delivery due to unforeseen accidents.
We have stopped the easy choice of discarding food, including items other than monaka, that have received packaging damage due to unforeseen accidents.
Instead, based on the criteria "within the expiration date" and "no impact on taste," we regularly sell "reason-of-the-season" sets at our Jiyugaoka main store. These sets are very popular for personal consumption or as samples before gifting.

One example is our support for Ukraine. We donated all proceeds from the "MAM SOUP Borscht" sold at our directly managed stores from March to May 2022, through the Ukrainian Embassy.
We will continue these activities, however small, to make Japan and the world a better place.
